Father's Day Competition - 2014

Here is what she wrote in her winning entry:

“My Dad is definitely my hero, he is not only an amazing husband to my Mom and a Father to myself and my brother, but has gone the extra mile to play the Father figure to my 7-year-old son. This is not the first time this man stands up and takes on another man’s responsibilities. I was 2-years-old when he and my mom started dating and 5 when they tied the knot. He accepted me as his own flesh and blood even though I wasn’t. I have learnt so much from this man. He then went the extra mile and has been the Father figure, best friend, fishing partner and Grandfather for the past 6 and a half years now to my son and has done all this so effortlessly. He stepped in to play the amazing role when my son’s Dad walked out on him. He is my hero for being the man every man should grow up to be, with all the morals, advice, support, friendship and love he has bestowed onto our family. Like the saying goes: ‘Any man can be a Father, but it takes someone super special to be a DAD!’ I would like to take this time to thank God for blessing us with a SUPERHERO like him. We couldn't have asked for better.”
